Mass of Christian burial will be said at 11 AM Saturday at St. Frances of Rome Church for Secundino Garcia Jr., 11, who died Monday of leukemia. Interment will follow in Elsinore Valley Cemetery.
Rosary will be said at 7 PM tomorrow at Evans-Brown Elsinore Chapel. Friends may call at the Evans-Brown Chapel from 4 to 8 PM today and tomorrow and 8:30 to 10:15 AM Saturday.
Garcia was an avid baseball fan and a sixth-grade student at Elsinore Elementary School. He died at Children's Hospital in Los Angles after a lengthy battle with leukemia.
Survivors include his parents, Secundino Sr. and Alicia, brothers Salvadore and Enrique, and grandparents Juan and Angelina Perez, all of Lake Elsinore; grandparents Luis and Ramona Santoyo of Mexico; and great-grandmother Gregoria Ayon of El Monte.
St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church has started the Secundino Garcia Jr. Memorial Fund to assist the family. Donations may be sent in care of the church at 109 S. Lowell Ave., Lake Elsinore. Elsino9re Elementary School students will plant a Christmas tree in Garcia's memory nest week.
